The rocky shore is the ideal place to study the interaction between marine life and their environment. The ledges of Kimmeridge, in Purbeck Marine Wildlife Reserve, provide the opportunity for a memorable face-to-face encounter with local marine life.

The Fine Foundation Marine Centre houses an array of educational interpretation and native aquaria enhanced with a live underwater camera (weather permitting).

A dedicated school room is available for booking curriculum based audio visual talks and there are opportunities for a variety of warden led shore activities enabling first hand encounters.

Dorset Wildlife Trust wardens educate visitors from a wide range of ages and backgrounds in caring for the diverse marine environment, ensuring it remains as exquisite today as it will in years to come.

Topics covered; adaptations of marine life, species identification, food chains/webs, marine conservation, rocky shore zonation.
