The David Donald Field Studies Centre is ideally located in the heart of the Purbecks for the exploration of the great diversity of habitats, geography and geology of the area. It can be used as a base for field studies by schools (suitable for key stage 2 and above), University and Youth Organisations The Centre, a converted World War II Radar base, can accommodate 24 people on a self catering basis, and by using the camping area (which has a dedicated toilet and shower area) this can be increased to 40.

Facilities include:

Main meeting room with dining tables, chairs, comfortable seating area and a wood burning stove

Two dormitories: one sleeping 9 and one 11, with their own showers and toilets.

One room which sleeps 2, with its own toilet and shower and washbasin

One room which sleeps 2, with its own washbasin

Large well-equipped kitchen, with range cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer

The Centre also offers an ideal base location for other groups (e.g. Naturalists Ramblers, Musicians, Cyclists, Reunions, etc) wishing to explore and enjoy the Purbecks. |
